The last weeks Greg and I have been collecting doilies! Greg is working on a lamp range using lazer profile doilie cut-outs as the bases. Beautiful... can't wait to see how they turn out. I have to say that I never heard of the word ''doilie'' before, and I really couldn't think of the Dutch translation. But I just discovered that we officially use the same word in Dutch ''doilie'', never ever heard of it before... They remind me of my sweet Gran; Omi. She recently died. Omi had an impressive collection of the antique versions; the ones made out of lace. I have always loved them. These drawings I made on the first pack we bought (you always have to buy a bunch of them!). I decided to use them as a little frame for my bird drawings. More will follow on different doillie designs...
